Dog Walkers Code of Conduct
1. Pack Limit of 10 dogs. More dogs than 10, go to another park or split your pack for the day and go to two separate parks;
2. Come to the park in your time slot so we can have a staggered arrival and departure of walkers between the times of 10:30 and 4:00 (we will contact you re this);
3. One day or more per week find an alternate place to walk your dogs;
4. Minimum mandatory monthly donation to S.O.D.A. through MPDWA of $40/month for Marymoor and Grandview, or if you only use these parks a combined 2 or less day/week $20/month;
5. Mandatory participation in 7 poop scoops per year and 1 S.O.D.A. work party;
6. Maintain professionalism, keep group moving, avoid distractions (i.e. cell phones, idle chatting, or anything that takes attention away from charges);
7. Stop your dogs from digging;
8. Keep dogs out of the off-limit areas, such as fenced areas along the river, soccer fields, pea patch garden, and areas of re-growth, etc.;
9. Avoid the general population whenever possible (i.e. busy water stops, avoid groups of people and steer away from young children and timid or little dogs);
10. Keep your group of dogs under voice command;
11. Prescreen playgroup dogs;
12. Be a licensed in Washington State as well as have an appropriate city business license;
13. Have adequate liability insurance;
14. Be an active member of S.O.D.A. (fee covered by monthly donation);
15. In addition to cleaning up after the dogs in your care; members will spend time each visit poop scooping, keep record on individual time sheets, and turn records into the MPDWA;
16. Follow the “Rules While at the Park”;
17. Do responsible poop-scooping;
18. Stop bothersome dog behavior immediately;
19. Park in the North East parking lot, Lot G;
20. Be respectful of all users of the off-leash area including other dog walkers;
21. Ads on the bulletin boards should be no larger than 8 ½ x 11, one per board & avoid excessive staples; and
22. Adhere to all S.O.D.A. Rules.
